There are several ways to participate with the Foundation:

1. Donate to an existing fund managed by the Foundation if you are also passionate about the purpose and intent of the fund. Several funds were created to benefit services and programs in the greater Sacramento community that are fundamental to core Jewish values and beliefs.
2. Donate to the Foundation’s unrestricted endowment fund, which will become a community grants program for community organizations in need.
3. Create your own fund.

The Foundation accepts cash, credit card donations, publicly traded securities, closely held or private stock, interests in limited partnerships, real estate, life insurance and private foundation assets. Tax deductions are earned and acknowledged at the time of your gift. Gifts of appreciated assets provide you or your estate with additional tax benefits.

Check Acceptance Policy

Due to federal banking laws, the Jewish Community Foundation of the West can only accept checks made payable to “Jewish Community Foundation of the West”. To identify which fund the gift is for, please either write the name of the fund on the check memo line or attach a note. We appreciate your cooperation.

Stock Donation

Making a gift of appreciated stock can be a very beneficial means of making a donation. To make a donation of stock, please download the Authorize a Stock Transfer to Schwab form and follow the directions.
